Hello Friends,
First some Family News . . .
One of the neatest things about basing out of the US now is getting to spend so much time with our kids and their families, especially seeing our little grandkids grow up.
We now have FIVE grandkids with three of them living in Colorado and two in Tennessee. But even though we base out of Florida we get to see them quite often.
Just these past two weeks our newest grand-baby, Montana Jane was with us, with our daughter and her husband. It was so, so much fun. It was also interesting to see how they raise her in the internet age. (They are trying to keep her away from any “screens” until she is two at least.) No electronic games, phones, TV’s etc. We are impressed to see how committed they were to this. They are doing an amazing job with her.
Jim’s Mom is Now in Heaven . . .
On April 21 my (Jim’s) Mother went to be with Jesus. She was 95 years old. She was born in 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Less than a week before she went to heaven she told some of our kids that were visiting her “goodbye” as she said, “soon I am going to be with Jesus.”
My mother was very heathy and still got around by herself before she passed. She stopped driving just over two years ago. (she loved to go to Costco regularly.)
She had a wonderful sweet relationship with God and all these years she prayerfully and financially supported us as we have served as missionaries.
To me she was an amazing woman and as my father was too, one of the great “heroes” of my life. She was always positive, always Mom, and always calling me “Jimmy”.
I am one of eight children and we are all close. Later this month we will all be in Colorado to Celebrate her Amazing Life.
The photo here is of me and Brenda and her in front of her house in Arvada, Colorado (near Denver). The other is from a couple of years ago at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver where my father is buried. And my Mom and Dad and oldest brother (1st of 8 children) in 1951.
I will greatly miss our regular phone calls but I am greatly comforted as we know where she is today, in Heaven.
Ministry News Update . . .
This past month I was in Hungary and Bulgaria once again. In a few weeks I will once again be in Krakow, Poland, Budapest, Hungary and other countries. I still a bsolutely love these trips and traveling.
When I am in Poland I will meet with several pastors that we are helping to start churches this year. Each one of the pastors of these new churches are unique in their approach to reaching there city in which the new church is started. We are planning on starting four churches in Poland this year.
I never tire of listening to their enthusiasm as to their plans and all the ways God has opened doors already for the new churches. Sometimes, it’s a key building in which to meet, and others talk about the praise and worship leaders that are going to help them.
They always say it’s a “miracle” who and what God has provided. We are always thrilled that we can be a small part of helping them get the church off the ground.
Having an Amazing Impact in Slovenia
I think the first time I went to Slovenia was back in 2002, 23 years ago. I was there with a Slovakian Pastor friend of mine.
Most people, I think have heard of Slovenia but it’s often confused with Slovakia. Hungary is right between them with Slovakia to the northeast and Slovenia to the southwest.
Since that first trip, we have been to Slovenia so many, many times. Sometimes 3 or four times a year. This nation of just over 2 million people is being impacted with the gospel.
There are very few evangelical Christians in this nation and many cities and towns do not have churches. But the Christians that are there are so very committed.
It has been such a privilege to work with some of these Slovenian Pastors.
Even this year we are looking to start at least two churches in Slovenia, working with these pastors.
We look to start more churches there this year and in 2026. We continue to invest $4000 in each of these new churches.
We hope to see TEN churches stared this year. We invest $4000 in each church to help it get started.
Thank you for helping us to reach out to the Nations of Eastern Europe.
In Awe of His Faithfulness.
